Holon vs Orbiton - What's the difference?

In physics terms the difference between holon and orbiton

is that holon is one of three kinds of quasiparticle (the others being the spinon and orbiton) that electrons in solids are able to split into during the process of spin–charge separation, when extremely tightly confined at temperatures close to absolute zero while orbiton is a quasiparticle, corresponding to the orbital energy of an electron, which can result from an electron apparently ‘splitting’ under certain conditions.

English

Noun

(en noun) (wikipedia holon)
  • (physics) One of three kinds of quasiparticle (the others being the spinon and orbiton) that electrons in solids are able to split into during the process of spin–charge separation, when extremely tightly confined at temperatures close to absolute zero.
  • (sociology) The term "holon" is a structural family therapy term that implies the part and whole inevitably connected. Every holon is both a part and a whole, e.g.: an individual is part of a family, which is part of an extended family, which is part of a community, etc.
